William W. Starks is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. William is a veteran, he has spent his career working as an educator, Mental Health Special Specialist and therapist. He is also an artist. William has worked primarily with the historically underserved youth and families. In addition to his studies UMS he also has an undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University(Nashville) and a graduate Degree from Tennessee State University(Nashville).He has worked as teacher, at juvenile court and in several hospital setting. He also served as a site manger at Meharry Medical College's award winning "I Have a Future Program". The mentoring program was dedicated to Health promotions /Rites of Passage.
I believe we must serve as an inspiration for our youth, encourage them to uncover their greatness. One of the guiding principles for William is a quote from the Iconic Educator and Activist Dr. Mary McLeod Bethun ," Our children must never lose their zeal for building a better world. They must not be discouraged from aspiring toward greatness, for they are to be the leaders of tomorrow." William has a daughter Gabrielle and son Charles. He enjoys painting, writing and traveling.
