UMS offers metaphysical science doctoral degrees to denote the highest level of education attainable through studies in metaphysics. Our D.D., D.Div, and Ph.D. degrees are available to pursue upon completion of both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees through UMS. The doctoral degrees offered through University of Metaphysical Sciences are research based degrees, providing the student with an opportunity to make a unique and original contribution to metaphysical science knowledge.
The earning of a metaphysical doctorate degree gives the student the title of doctor in their chosen specialization in the field of metaphysical sciences.
A Metaphysical Science degree, whether you choose a D.D, D.Div, or Ph.D., adds a new level of professionalism and legitimacy to your credentials. It shows that you have such a deep interest in and respect for your work that you have intensively focused on research and contributed to the information available in your area of study. This can be especially relevant if you are teaching, lecturing, or writing books, as agents and expo producers specifically look for this level of education in their writers and presenters.
Doctoral Degree Requirements
All students begin their studies with University of Metaphysical Sciences at the bachelor’s level, completing both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees through UMS before being eligible to pursue the doctorate.
The doctoral level builds upon the knowledge you have gained through the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. It gives you the opportunity to choose an area of research and exploration in metaphysics that you are interested in to further your own growth. Here you can personally explore and increase your spiritual knowledge and awareness.
While there is no additional curriculum at this level, this is the most academically focused part of the program, and perhaps the most challenging. However, it is also a very rewarding and enriching process, culminating in earning the title of doctor.
To earn your doctoral degree in metaphysics / metaphysical sciences, you will choose a metaphysical topic of interest, deeply research this topic, and write a specifically structured 10,000 word dissertation which will be reviewed by our dissertation committee.
Your research on your metaphysical topic will be directly related to the metaphysical science degree title you choose and your personal and professional goals. Upon completion of this level you will receive the high honor of a D.D. or Ph.D. degree in metaphysics.
If desired, upon payment for and completion of a second dissertation, you can earn both a D.D. degree and a Ph.D. if you want both metaphysics degrees for different purposes. Students sometimes decide to pursue each as the D.D. or D.Div. titles are geared towards those who plan to work one-on-one with others, offering spiritual counseling services for example. The metaphysical Ph.D. indicates a less specialized and broader approach to the area of study. The original definition of philosophy is “Love of Wisdom,” and has never been more relevant than in the cutting edge field of knowledge in which we work.
