Velda was born in the warm, beautiful sunny island of Barbados from a family of many siblings. Velda completed her Bachelors’ degree in Performing Art at the University of the West Indies. Having dreamt of entering the legal profession, Velda then entered the Faculty of Law at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in 2013 and further graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B (Hons) in 2016. She then proceeded to the Hugh Wooding Law School where she successfully completed her Jurist Doctorate (J.D.) in 2019.
Velda afterwards successfully obtained her Masters in Corporate and Commercial Law and Compliance at the Postgraduate Department of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
Outside of the academic realm, Velda also plays a significant role in motivating young persons in general and by interacting with them daily in the community where she lives and offering guidance wherever necessary.
Velda is an artist who is passionate about her work and is capable of doing work in all aspects of fine arts. She is also an avid dancer, who dances in all genres of dances, i.e. ballroom, latin, salsa, contemporary and line dancing. Velda is proficient in English and in Spanish.
Velda grew up in a Christian household, always had faith in God and a deep and abiding love and a strong belief in God. She was a seeker of knowledge and of all things spiritual. That quest for knowledge make her conscious of herself as a spiritual. Once she gained that knowledge she automatically became the embodiment of that knowledge. In further pursuance of that understanding of who she really is as a spirit/soul, she therefore decided to pursue studies in Metaphysics as a means of enhancing the knowledge she already attained about herself as a spiritual being. The foundation she already had of her own spirituality had therefore allow her to open up herself fully and completely to this great metaphysical and spiritual study.
Velda’s best qualities are contentment, patience, tolerance, detachment and encouragement and a willing acceptance of subtle and spiritual knowledge. Velda is God-fearing with a positive outlook on life. Velda believes that God has a perfect and unique plan for herself and everyone who is willing to surrender their lives to the Almighty power within the self and also that situations and her state of mind are not connected. Velda also believe in respecting everyone and seeing everyone as a Child of God. Now that Velda has reached this remarkable milestone hopes to have the spiritual vision to be able to transform all limited mundane concepts and ideas into unlimited spirituality and to see the benefit not only to herself but to use it in the upliftment of humanity.
Velda believes that she was able to keep focused and reach these landmark achievements through the encouragement of her daughter, Terri-Anne Moore-Knowles, her extended family and close friends who have encouraged her throughout the years and who still continue to encourage her at the present time.
